Keven Brennan, a Los Angelean, was born in South Bend, Indiana. At 5 years old, private art lessons with Sister Catherine at Sacred Heart Church ignited his passion for expression. As a child, his annual birthday request was to take the big trip to The Art Institute of Chicago, where he was particularly engrossed with discovering the mysterious, stunning colors in Monet’s canvasses. And so Keven’s journey began. Then onto playing in punk, funk, and rock bands with their pulsing, raw, urban influence driving into his painting. Not surprising that his work contains religious and sensual undertones married within rich layers of color, and apocalyptic lines and images. Both of Keven’s artistic expressions, art and music, share common threads -- movement, gestural qualities, and rhythm -- birthing from the same core place... an intuitive, sense-memory guide to the story. |

Featuring: Kristin Bauer |

Kristin Bauer (actress on True Blood, Seinfeld, Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion) started drawing long before doing much else. It was an escape, a sanctuary, a meditation...a timeless activity that was always there, quietly waiting like a good, constant companion. However, for many years she took this friend for granted, and was lured away by the greener pastures and demanding hours of tinsel town, until one very stressful year when she was in great need of solace. Coincidentally, she was working on a project with Peter Falk, an avid art lover. He talked of an amazing art school in Los Angeles, and that’s all it took. One call, and now, a decade later, Kristin has thankfully spent hundreds of hours in her studio with a paint brush in her hand. Representational in style, you see Kristin’s relationship to her paintings – be they still life, landscape, or portrait – capturing their very "being" through the use of light and contrast. |
